A Bibliometric Analysis Of Scientific Productions On Diabetes Mellitus From India

Background: A tremendously increasing figure of articles and studies in the recent years has advocated the significance of diabetes mellitus as one of the commonly identified non-infectious diseases and holds the first position of the chances of developing complications in non-infectious chronic disorders. Most amazingly, incidence of diabetes has pointedly improved in elderly, particularly type 2 diabetes mellitus. Additionally, there exists a large amount of published literatures signifying that diabetes mellitus is a disease of public health concern and is a major burden on community health services and socio-economic status either in developing or developed countries. To evaluate and assess the research output, a bibliometric analysis of the researches on diabetes mellitus has been done from the year 2017-2020. Methods: A wide spectrum of relevant scientific publications were retrieved from the databases like Scopus and Web of Science using the specific search queries. The scientific literatures which were accessed were then imported as BibText and RIS files. There were also checked for presence of any duplications in both the databases. The duplicates if found were removed and subsequently the final list of publications was prepared. Data related to finalised publications was imported to R- Studio application for producing the graphs and plots related to the number of scientific productions. Results: The search generated a data of a total of 784 documents from 438 Sources (Journals, Books, etc.) for the period from 2017 – 2020. The number of authors included a list of 4782 authors. Authors of single-authored documents were 22; whereas, authors of multi-authored documents were 4760. Thus, there were 6.1 authors per document, 8.46 co-authors per document. The Collaboration Index was 6.3. Conclusion: Our comprehensive and systematic analysis of published literatures on Diabetes mellitus by the researchers highlighted the importance of the funding for diabetes research.

Bibliometric Picture Of Scientific Productions On Tuberculosis From India

Background: Though tuberculosis (TB) is extensively documented as an ancient disease, yearly published studies on TB has augmented steadily. At present there exists an unresolved barrier in entirely eliminating TB as a widespread and global health problem. There are no better vaccines been available, it is very difficult to interfere the spread of disease, and TB is frequently identified in later stages. Management of TB has turn into more complex since the development of resistance to several anti-TB medications and recurrent co-infection by the human immunodeficiency virus. Tuberculosis (TB) study is a crucial element of the End TB Strategy. To trace the research production, we performed a bibliometric analysis tuberculosis research articles from the year 2017-2020. Methods: The Scopus as well as Web of Science records were retrieved, and an appropriate publications were recovered by means of the definite search query. The publications therefore retrieved were imported as Bib Text and RIS files and evaluated for copies in all databases. The duplicate copies were uninvolved, and the ultimate list of publications was made. Data connected to final list of publications was imported to R- Studio application for creating the graphs and plots related to the quantity of scientific productions. Results: The exploration created a statistics of an entire of 1584 papers from 682 Sources (Journals, Books, etc.) from the time-frame of 2017 – 2020. The total of authors comprised a list of 7875 authors. Authors of single-authored documents were 20; while, authors of multi-authored documents were 7855. Consequently, around 4.97 authors per document and 7.61 co-authors per document were present. The Collaboration Index was 5.03. Average citations per document was 37. Conclusion: Our extensive and methodical investigation of publications on TB by the investigators underlined the significance of the funding aid for Tuberculosis research.

Bibliometric Analysis Of Publications On Tissue Engineering Affiliated To The Health Sciences University From Central India.

BACKGROUND: Tissue Engineering (TE) have an brilliant ability to manufacture tailored product for patients in relation with skin, stem cells, wound healing, in-vivo, and bone engineering. This paper tries to provide a bibliometric analysis of the applications of tissue engineered extracellular matrices (ECMs) as in-vitro model micro-environments for tissue cells that imitate the native in vivo structure. This bibliometrics is the use as statistical methods which examine books, articles, and other publications. The impact after analysis to assess of quality of research with different technique is useful for various publication and can also inspiration writer, and helps develop more research understandability to researcher. This study was conducted to evaluate the number and trends of materials affiliated to health sciences university published in scopus and web of science indexed journals.
METHODS: Scopus and Web of Science Databases were accessed through institutional login. An “Advanced Search” was initiated using „Keyword‟ search strategy. Prepared query was run with key/KP (“Tissue Engineering”). Search was initiated to retrieve all data of publications from both databases. All data „Text‟ files were downloaded and imported to R-Studio. R-Studio was run. “Bibliometrics () Package” was loaded and “Biblioshiny ()” Function was hit. Text file was imported to Biblioshiny Panel. Query was run and Graphs, Tables and Charts were obtained as required.
RESULTS: Bibliometric analysis of publications affiliated to Health Sciences University between 2002 to 2021 generated a list of 1857 articles from 463 sources which majorly included 1527 Journal Articles and 280 articles in review. The Annual Percentage Growth Rate of Scientific Productions was 2.55. The publications showed total 7540 authors of which 16 were authors of „single-authored documents‟ and 7524 were authors of „multi-authored documents‟. The Collaboration Index of all published materials was 4.1.
CONCLUSION: This analysis reflects on the historical perspectives of health sciences university publications and its progress in scopus and web of science indexed scientific medical literature database.
