LED Facade as an art form of visual aesthetics and communication in branding

Malls and shopping buildings are part of public spaces, where communication is established, buildings and shopping centers in the capital city of Jakarta are developing, accompanied by increasingly modern technological developments. Monotonous appearance has now changed drastically and significantly. Technology and design take an crucial role in this stage of development, from the use of standard lamps which are now completely changing with the presence of urban screens, Light Emitting Diodes or LED, electronic components that emit monochromatic light.
Light Emitting Diode takes an important role in changing the appearance of buildings and shopping centers, now has a function as an advertising medium other than as aesthetics in Jakarta and other big cities. Nowadays shopping centers not only offer products but have turned into a gathering place for urban communities as a lifestyle, shopping centers are becoming meeting places and promotional events. Buildings and shopping centers now have a reciprocal (causal) relationship with urban spatial planning, architecture, and design that characterize urban society. In addition, Light Emitting Diode as an urban screen changed its function to become advertising communication media and create a metropolitan building that shines and has aesthetic value in the touch of technology.
Recent advances in the material aspects of veneers

A Veneer is a layer of tooth colored material that is applied to a tooth to restore localized or generalized defects and intrinsic discolorations. Veneers are made from materials like chairside composite, processed composite, porcelain, ceramic, preformed acrylic laminates and glass ceramic veneers. The evolution of materials, ceramics and adhesive system helps in improving the aesthetics and self-esteem of the patients. The current article is a review that illustrates the recent advancements in material aspect and clinical techniques of dental veneers.
ASSOCIATION OF PATIENT’S EDUCATIONAL STATUS AND SUCCESS RATE OF COMPLETE DENTURES AMONG FEMALES

Complete denture helps in replacement of missing dentures. The success and satisfaction of the complete denture is based on numerous factors like speech, fit, aesthetics, psychological factors and also educational status of the patient.The aim of the study was to determine association of patients educational status and the success rate of complete dentures delivered in Saveetha dental college among females.A retrospective study was done using the 86,000 case records of patients visiting University hospital from June 2019 - December 2019. Out of the total data 60 case sheets of female patients who have received complete denture were retrieved and analysed. The patients were then called by phone and asked to fill the questionnaire. Outcomes from the survey were correlated with the educational status of the patients using pearson's chi square test.Out of the 60 patients, 56% of the patients were satisfied with the fit of the denture, 61% satisfied with the facial appearance and 90% were satisfied with the size and shape of teeth and gums and 49% were not satisfied with chewing capabilities. Patients who were more educated were very particular about aesthetics and mostly not satisfied. However generally satisfaction increased with literacy rates and educated patients were more satisfied with the speech factor.Patients who were educated had better satisfaction with speech with their dentures as compared to uneducated patients.Patients who were educated were found to be less satisfied with the aesthetics of the denture than uneducated patients.
ASSESSMENT OF ATTRACTIVENESS OF SMILE BASED ON CANINE SHAPE AND POSITION- A PHOTOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS

Canine is the cornerstone of the arch, and has a strategic position . The current study involves assessment of attractiveness of smile based on canine shape and position.The study was done in a university hospital setting of Saveetha Dental College.The study was designed to be a cross sectional retrospective study. The study was based on the photographic analysis of the position, shape and prominence of canine and its effect on the perceived esthetics of the smile. 70 photographs of patients were selected from the institution's database, and evaluated. The perceived esthetics of each smile was graded on scale of 1-5, 5 being excellent aesthetics. The obtained data was tabulated and statistical analysis was done using SPSS( Version 23) .There was a statistically significant association with the position(p=0.012) and shape(p=0.006) and cervical prominence of the canine(p=0.000) with the perceived esthetics. The position and characteristics of the canine play a major role in the perception of aesthetics of the smile. A better understanding of these factors could highly improve the process of teeth selection or the rehabilitation of smiles
