compound (A) was synthesized by the reaction of BT
(benzoylthiourea) with ethyl chloroacetate and this represented the start point
for the synthesis of new azo compounds(1a-l) by using pyridine as solvent and
catalyst.Series of azo-chalcone compounds(3a-j) which contains a chalcons and
azo group in the same time were synthesized via exploitation the active
methylene group in compound (A). In this work all the chemicals were used to
the synthesis compounds obtained from various and deferent companies in a
high purity (Sigma-Aldrich,BDH,Fluka and ROMIL-SA), in addition to all
synthesized compounds have been characterized and identify by FT-IR,1HNMR
and GC-Mass and the melting point

European Journal of Molecular & Clinical Medicine, 2020, Volume 7, Issue 8, Pages 1184-1193

Aim: To investigate the antimicrobial properties of calcium hydroxide when mixed with three vehicles namely Zamzam water, Normal saline and 2% Chlorhexidine.
Materials & Method: 6 plates of nutrient broth and S. aureus culture were prepared. 2 (5*3 mm) wells were prepared in one plate and is used as control. 3 wells each were prepared in the remaining 5 plates and filled with freshly prepared mix of calcium hydroxide with the three vehicles (5 wells were filled with each mix). The same process was repeated using 6 plates containing nutrient broth and B. subtilis culture. The plates were then incubated for 24 hours and the Zone of inhibition (ZOI) was measured. The pH of each mixture was also measured by using a pH meter. The data was analyzed by ANNOVA test and compared by using Tukey HSD test.
Result: The mean value of ZOI for Ca(OH2) and Zamzam was statistically significant when tested against both the bacteria. The pH of 12.26, 11.90 and 12.10 was achieved for Ca(OH2) and Zamzam, Ca(OH2) and Normal saline and 2% Chlorhexidine and Ca(OH2).
Conclusion: Calcium hydroxide powder mixed with Zamzam water exhibited the highest pH of 12.26 and showed statistical significant antimicrobial difference when compared to other medicaments. However further in depth scientific investigations regarding the properties and safety of Zamzam water and World health organization (WHO) approval would be required before considering its clinical use.

An exopolysaccharide (EPS) in the amount of 20 mg/L and 1200 mg/L was obtained from the culture supernatant of Lactobacillus casei K7/3 grown in MRS broth and in a broth based on the whey of cottage cheese, respectivily. In the IR spectrum of EPS, intense absorption bands were found, generally characteristic of a class of carbohydrates. The molecular weight of the EPS obtained from L. casei K7/3 was 5600 Da, the polydispersity index was 1.9. The EPS from L. casei K7/3 consisted from a dextrose, mannose and galactose in molar ratio of 2.7:1.5:1, respectively. Minimal Inhibition Concentration (MIC) values of an EPS against Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 1911 revealed between 10 mg/mL and 80 mg/mL. An in vitro study of the antioxidant activity of L. casei K7/3 EPS in the diphenylpicrylhydrazine (DPPH) system showed that radical scavenging activity (RSA) has being increased depending on the concentration of the investigated EPS. The maximum %RSA was detected at 4 mg/ml being 26%.

From the aboveground and root parts of Rumex confertus plants, the method
of triple ethanol extraction was used to extract the polyphenol tannic compounds extract -
ERc and evaluate its biological activity. It was established that ERc with a single oral
administration at a dose of 5000 mg/kg does not cause toxic effects in experimental
animals and their death, with prolonged oral administration at a dose of up to 500 mg/kg
also does not cause animal death and pathological changes in their organs. At
concentrations of 50-100 μg/ml, it inhibited the growth of Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas
aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureu. At a concentration above 100 μg/ml, it showed a
cytotoxic effect on normal fibroblast cells, and at a concentration of 50 μg/ml ERc
significantly stimulated the proliferation of these skin cells, which allowed us to choose
this concentration as effective and introduce it into a collagen based RP. As a result, the
obtained RP under the name СC-Rc accelerated the time of complete epithelialization of
wounds by 1.5 times. At the same time, the commercial NeuSkin-F comparison drug
(Eucare Pharmaceuticals (P) Limited, India) consisting of collagen without drug additives
showed very low wound healing properties in our studies due to poor adhesion. In this
regard, our CC-Rc, which has significantly better congruence and adhesion to the wound,
showed an excellent result, did not require additional fixation.
