THE ROLE OF PROBIOTICS IN LIVER CIRROSIS
European Journal of Molecular & Clinical Medicine,
2023, Volume 10, Issue 3, Pages 381-387
The frequency of cirrhosis is about 20–40 cases per 100,000 populations, and this indicator is steadily increasing. At present, it is one of the six main causes of death at the age of 35–60 years in economically developed countries. Foreign and domestic scientists are working on the development and synthesis of new drugs of chemical and natural origin for the treatment and prevention of liver diseases of various origins, in particular liver cirrhosis. Many studies have shown an important pathogenic role in the occurrence and progression of some liver diseases with changes in the intestinal microbiota. Therefore, antibiotics, prebiotics and probiotics are an effective treatment for liver diseases, which can correct the intestinal microbiota.
Probiotics in Dentistry- Review and Outlook

The field of probiotics is an evolving field. Time has come to shift the paradigm of treatment from specific bacteria elimination to altering bacterial ecology by probiotics. Probiotics are dietary supplements containing potentially beneficial bacteria or yeasts. Probiotics have been found to be beneficial to the host health by improving the endogenous flora. Traditionally, probiotics have been associated with gastrointestinal tract, however recently several investigators have suggested use of probiotics for oral health.
Probiotics an Adjuvant in The Management of Recurrent Aphthous Ulcer: A Randomized Clinical Trial
European Journal of Molecular & Clinical Medicine,
2022, Volume 9, Issue 3, Pages 2488-2493
Background: Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is a kind of benign mouth ulceration. RAS is one of the most prevalent ulcers, affecting around 20% of the population. The goal of this study was to assess the effectiveness of probiotics on RAS.
Materials and Procedures: A total of forty people were divided into two groups. For 7 days, 20 patients in Group 1 were given Bacillus coagulans (Sporolac) and Tetracycline capsules 250 mg (Resteclin) twice daily. For 7 days, Group 2 patients were given just Tetracycline capsules 250 mg (Resteclin) twice daily. At the baseline, 4th, and 7th days, pain, size, and average duration of the ulcer were assessed. For statistical Analysis, The Mann Whitney U test was used to compare the parameters between the two groups.
Results: In just four days, the Probiotic group saw a substantial drop in all of the metrics.
Conclusion: Probiotics are used in the treatment and management of RAS as an adjuvant therapy.
ROLE OF PROBIOTICS IN PREVENTION OF OBESITY

Probiotics can be defined as live microorganisms that may beneficially affect the host upon ingestion by improving the balance of the microflora. It has various health benefits like alternation in weight, increasing the immunity, and also in digestion. Many of us would think that bacterial products aren’t helpful but in contrast they are enormously useful. The common species involved are Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium. At present the alarming issue for everyone might be weight gain. The probiotic diet helps in modification of gut microbiota and it inhibits the absorption of dietary fat and increases fat excretion via faeces. Most of the attempts done to study the effects of probiotics with Lactobacillus strains on weight reduction was found to be positive. Probiotic administration on women over a period of three months had a significant reduction in weight compared to the pills. So probiotics are far better than artificially prepared pills. The aim of the review is to analyze whether a probiotic diet helps in reduction of weight and how far it could play the beneficial role in reduction of weight.
