Abstract

WHO has declared coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) as a public health emergency of International concern on 30thJanuary 2020. It has a major impact on healthcare system and societies. The mother and fetus do not seems to be at particular high risk. Nevertheless, obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine practice have suffered profound changes to adapt to the pandemic. The available information suggest that the transmission is by respiratory droplets from infected person, direct contact with contaminated surfaces by infected secretions. Limited data are available for pregnant women with COVID-19 infection and chances of vertical transmission. In this case series we have 12 cases of covid-19 infected mothers who delivered neonates tested positive for covid-19 infection in early neonatal period with in 24 to 48 hours of life in our institute.
