Abstract
Background: Carcinoma of cervix is the final step in the chain of events occurring incervical epithelium at transformation zone.The present work aims at evaluation of
vaginal cytology for detection of dysplasia, carcinoma-in-situ, Microinvasive carcinoma,
Frank invasive carcinomacervix.
Material and Methods: In the present study 300 cases were selected from the outdoor
department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Darbhanga Medical college Hospital,
Laheriasari. The cases selected were thoroughly examined and investigated. Cytological
study and Histopathological study of positive smears were done.The lesions showing
different grades of dysplastic lesions and malignant lesion were confirmed
histopathologically.
