Abstract
Acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AMKL) is a type of leukemia which is rare accounting to approximately 7%–10% of all acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in children. It is commonly seen in children with Down syndrome (DS). However, AMKL in non-Down Syndrome child is even rarer. Herein, we report acase of an 18-month‑old non-Down syndrome male child who was diagnosed with AMKL. Detailed peripheral blood smear examination followed by bone marrow aspiration cytology helps in reaching a diagnosis of AMKL which is further confirmed by immunophenotyping and cytogenetics
