The ailment known as peripheral lymphadenopathy is one that doctors frequently see in patients. Better clinical care and decisions are made possible by understanding the pattern of diseases that cause the same symptoms. The goal of the current study was to evaluate the cytomorphological pattern of lymph node swellings using FNAC.
Method: The current investigation, which examined 160 individuals who presented with peripheral lymph node swellings for FNAC, was cross-sectional in nature. Details of the sickness and FNAC results were reported.
Results: The most frequent finding in younger age groups (under 21 years) was reactive hyperplasia. Middle-aged people were more frequently affected by tuberculosis (20-41 years). The elderly (>61 years) were more likely to have malignant alterations.
Conclusion: Among patients under 61 years of age, reactive hyperplasia, tubercular lymphadenitis, and metastatic cancer were the most frequent causes of lymphadenopathy, respectively.
