Abstract

Over the past 35 years, not a single rural settlement in Uzbekistan has received the status of a city. At the same time, there was a weak migration movement of the rural population to the cities and a relatively low birth rate in cities in relation to the villages. The combined influence of the above factors led to a reduction in the level of urbanization in the country.
