AbstractCoronavirus disease caused by SARS-COV-2 is a worldwide problem. Research , treatments , vaccines and drug trials are still not conclusive , therefore the mainstay for tackling this problem lies in early detection of disease and its prevention. Studies tell us that the coronavirus disease spreads from human to human and even through contact with droplet infected surfaces. Maintenance of hygiene and social distancing have been proved to decrease the transmission of infection caused by COVID 19.
The outbreak of this global pandemic originated in Wuhan China and due to negligence and no prompt preventive strategies by the authorities ,in a matter of few months it became a major disease burden for the whole world. The disease is yet not fully understood and no effective treatment has been approved which created a world wide panic. Even With intense ongoing research, new diagnostic approaches , ongoing drug and vaccine trials , the only effective way to be safe from this pandemic is through preventive strategies. The whole world needs to carefully plan and sensitise its citizens on how to minimise disease transmission. Also strategies need to be put in place to create awareness and decrease panic in the minds of people.
In this review article transmission routes, preventive measures are being discussed.
