AbstractThe problem of studying the metabolism of calcium and glucose remains relevant and not fully investigated. Calcium ion plays an important role in many vital processes of the body, including the conjugation of the processes of excitation and secretion. Indisputable evidence has been obtained confirming the importance of calcium ions in the secretion of hormones that regulate carbohydrate metabolism (insulin and glucagon). There are few data indicating the effect of pancreatic hormones on tissue and cellular calcium metabolism. Thus, the effect of glucagon and insulin on calcium metabolism is similar to that of calcitonin (Hollo et.al., 1979). Insulin, like calcitonin, increases the transport of calcium into cells [Etsuko et. al, 2009]. In this regard, it can be assumed that the functional state of the islet apparatus of the pancreas can be significantly influenced by hormones that regulate calcium metabolism in the body.
