AbstractRural communities, especially in India, are marked by the profoundly entrenched, vicious cycle of poverty in most emerging Asian-Pacific countries. Following economic downturn, urban markets were depressed due to the cash crop, and rural creamy industries stayed relatively unchanged due to the country's demographic characteristics, but 70% of the rural population of India could be harnessed to an optimal degree. This paper discusses the possibilities for emerging and even established firms to grow their markets. In this study, researchers collected data from 91 of the SHG's (Self Help) respondents from 24 Sangrur district villages (Punjab) by interviewing and analyzing methods, which were tested and found not functioning well and profitably because of a lack of proper support from the government and market awareness.
