We report an interesting case of Prothrombin Complex Concentrate (PCC) administration in a heart disease patient on warfarin in labour. PCC was effective to prevent hemorrhagic complications in our patient. Prothrombin complex concentrate therapy has been consistently shown to rapidly reduce the international normalized ratio (INR) rapidly and control bleeding effectively. In comparative studies with plasma, Prothrombin complex concentrate use was associated with a greater proportion of patients achieving target INR rapidly, with improved hemostasis but there is a paucity of data on the pregnant population. Our case report is a contribution to highlight the benefits of PCC as a life saviour in a heart disease patient on warfarin in labour.
