The antispasmodics are selected, depending on various factors like age, co-morbid conditions, tolerability and acceptability. Antimuscarinic antispasmodic agents are commonly used. With no universal consensus on antispasmodic choice, and few systemic studies reported in the Indian literature regarding pattern of antispasmodic use in bladder overactivity, comparison of their efficacy and tolerability.
