Introduction In the modern era of fast living there is increased incidence of road traffic accidents. As these accidents are high velocity trauma they are frequently associated with open injury. The knee joint is vulnerable to get injured in motor vehicle collision. These open peri-articular fractures pose great economical burden on our society and mental, social and financial burden upon the patient. Although systemic antibiotics have been used for many years, newer method of local antibiotic delivery system has come up in the form of antibiotic impregnated cement beads which increases local antibiotic level, decreases systemic toxicity and possibly has greater efficacy.
