ABSTRACT This scientific article deals with the issues of teaching foreign languages in nonphilological universities in the period of COVID-19. Nowadays, in the process of foreign language teaching is focused on the solution of current problems, such as the formation and development of professional skills of future professionals in various fields. The peculiarities of foreign language teaching have been studied broadly, and the scientific work of scientists in this area has been analyzed to a certain extent. The importance of professional education in the formation of professional skills of future professionals was also analyzed. Learning reading in a foreign language is a tool for a future specialist to become competitive.
