Abstract

ABSTRACT Coronaviruses are predominantly known to cause enzootic infections in mammals and birds. In the past few decades, these viruses have become adept in infecting humans. COVID – 19 which is an acute respiratory illness in humans that can be primarily spread from person to person via respiratory droplets released from cough of an ill person. Even after strict imposition of universal masking and social distancing rules, community spread is rampant in India. So, it is mandatory to look into the issues causing this assumed failure of preventive measures.
