Abstract

Background: Enhanced Recovery Protocols (ERPs) have gained prominence in improving postoperative outcomes. However, their application in Cesarean Sections (CS) remains a subject of ongoing investigation. This study aims to assess the impact of different anesthesia techniques on the effectiveness of ERPs for CS. Methods: A prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted with a sample of 20 pregnant women undergoing elective CS. Patients were divided into two groups, with 10 patients in each group. Group A received general anesthesia (GA), while Group B received regional anesthesia (RA). ERPs were implemented for both groups, including preoperative education, optimized pain management, early mobilization, and early oral intake. Postoperative outcomes, such as length of hospital stay, pain scores, and complications, were compared between the two groups.
